My husband and I are huge fans of lemonade, so when my mom found this recipe, we were thrilled!! There’s something special about not buying the unnaturally yellow stuff in bottles – and actually, we think this is the best lemonade we’ve ever had! I’m not sure we’ll ever go back. :) When I tested the recipe a couple weeks ago, and then made it again here in Virginia and we still loved it, I knew I wanted to share it!
SUPER Easy Homemade Lemonade
– 5 lemons
– 2 trays of ice
– 1 1/4 cup sugar
Thinly slice 5 lemons crosswise, removing seeds as you go.
Place lemons in a large bowl.
Pour 1 1/4 cup sugar over lemons.
Smash together with a masher or wooden spoon until sugar is more or less dissolved, and lemons are broken.
Transfer this mixture into the pitcher you’ll serve it in.
Add 2 trays of ice and 3 1/2 or 4 cups cold water.
Stir. Serve at once.
** If you made this a day early, pull out the lemons so that it doesn’t get bitter.
